*Says He Is Being Monitored From Aso Rock
Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a prominent Plateau clergyman and Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, has alleged that aides and loyalists of President Bola Tinubu are issuing threats to silence his advocacy on the alleged “Christian genocide” in Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt.
In a video that went viral on Friday, Rev. Dachomo claimed that for the past two months, since he began presenting evidence including videos of mass graves countering the government’s denial of targeted killings, he has faced intimidation.
“They are threatening and warning me to stop exposing Tinubu’s government at the global level over the ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria by terrorists. They say they’re watching my every move from Aso Rock,” he said.
He recalled a specific instance, stating, “Somebody from Aso Rock called me and said, ‘Reverend, stop exposing the government, your own government, your country.’ He told me they are monitoring every one of my moves on social media. I said, oh, so I’m now exposing my government while they are watching me?”
Rev. Dachomo condemned the government’s inaction, arguing it endangers Christians by allowing extremist groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP to operate unchecked. “Their silence is exposing us to killings by refusing to stop herdsmen from attacking us. Are they not exposing us?” he said.
He also addressed recent claims by Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who suggested that mass graves in Christian communities contained empty coffins. Rev. Dachomo demanded the presence of top officials, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Army Staff, the Director-General of the SSS, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC), to verify the gravesites.
“The son of the late Gumi, who used to negotiate with terrorists, claimed all the corpses we buried are lies. He said we only buried empty coffins. I have made his name known. He must appear before Interpol, even if he hides in Saudi Arabia. He will testify at the International Criminal Court,” he said.
He further instructed local youth to guard the graves and called on security personnel to protect the sites. “Let us dig the grave and see what is there. Who is lying? This is not an empty coffin. God of vengeance will fight for us,” Rev. Dachomo added.
In a related development, Rev. Dachomo confirmed to DAILY POST on Saturday that his Facebook account has been deleted amid his outspoken commentary on Christian killings.
The cleric has recently testified before the United States Congress regarding the killings of Christians in Nigeria and previously told British journalist Piers Morgan that he had conducted over 70 mass burials.
This comes as the U.S. has designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over religious persecution, a classification the Nigerian government has disputed, citing what it described as “faulty statistics.”
